About the Community

Eglantine House is the fanworks community of kushielsorting. Sorted members are welcome to post any Kushiel-related fanworks they create here.

Community Rules

1. This community is members-only. You must be sorted in kushielsorting first before you can join.

2. This community is locked. You must join it in order to see the posts.

3. You may only post fanworks made by you. If you want to rec someone else's work that's fine, but you cannot claim it as your own.

4. Old fanworks, that is anything made before you joined this community, are not eligible for points. You are welcome to post them anyway for comments, though!

6. All submissions must be placed behind an lj-cut. You may post a preview of no more than 3 icons or a small preview of your fanart outside a cut, but all larger images must be behind a cut. If you aren't sure how to do an lj-cut, check out the livejournal FAQ.

7. The points distribution for graphics is as follows:
-Each basic cropped or text only icon will receive 2 points. Any icons with effects will receive 4 points. Any variations will receive 1 point.
-Each basic large graphic will receive 5 points. Any large graphics with effects will receive 7 points.
-Colorbars are worth 5 points, unless they feature specially made icons in which case icon points will be added.
-Simple macros will be worth 2 points. Elaborate macros will be worth 5 points.

8. The points distribution for fanart is as follows:
-Simple Art includes doodles, simple sketches with no or very little shading, and art with very basic coloring and no or very little shading.
-Intermediate Art includes inked/cleaned lineart, elaborate sketches, and art with coloring and some shading
-Complex Art includes detailed drawings with color and complex shading

-Base points for simple art are 25
-Base points for intermediate art are 50
-Base points for complex art are 75

Additional points may be added for the following:

-Shading:
-Simple: 5
-Intermediate: 15
-Complex: 25
-Coloring:
-Simple: 10
-Intermediate: 20
-Complex: 30
-Backgrounds:
-Simple (imported backgrounds count as simple): 20
-Intermediate: 40
-Complex: 60

All characters in the picture will be scored separately & added together to form the total.

9. The points distribution for fanfic is as follows:
-Regular fanfic will receive 10 points for every 100 words.
-Each scene will receive a base of 20 points in addition to the word count points.

10. The points distribution for fanmixes is as follows:
-2 points will be given per song. The appropriate icon points will be given for any artwork accompanying the fanmix.

11. Points for crafts will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

12. Constructive criticism is certainly allowed, but flaming is not.

13. Fanworks featuring OCs are permitted. However, the mods reserve the right to withhold points from anything we feel is not deserving. OCs should fit within the boundaries of the Kushielverse and not violate established canon. Self inserts are not permitted here, though you are free to do what you like in orchis_house.

14. As stated above, the mods have the right to withhold points from anything we feel is undeserving. This includes anything that violates the rules as well as things not made with earnest effort. This is to cut down on spamming and keep the quality of fanworks high. We will try to be as fair as we can be with this.

15. When posting graphics made with fanart, you must credit the original artist(s) or you will not receive points.
